rear fill in '98 hatch
so i have a pair of lanzar 6x9s in the stock rear speaker locations and i'm just not getting enough fill. i don't want any bass out of 'em - i have a coupe 8" subs for that - i just want a good dose of midrange grunt, if you know what i'm saying.
i have this half-baked idea to construct a rear deck out of a lightweight wood frame and mount the 6x9s in that to provide them with a larger baffle area behind in the hatch compartment. would this help any? a friend of mine did this in his XR4TI a long while ago and it seemed to work pretty well.
also, would i benefit from a pair of 6.5" drivers back there instead of the 6x9s? if so, how much of an improvement will it be?
