Stock Spoiler - just for show or performance?
My 99 civic dx is currently spoilerless. I have the opportunity to have a stock spoiler installed. Does it provide any performance gain or will I just be adding extra weight for nothing?
yeah it's a coupe, personally I like it without the spoiler, but just wanted to check if i was making a performance mistake or not.
if you get an spoiler get one that's ment or designed for only for your car... if you get a universal or generic one you will be losing MPG and adding exta weight for nothing!!

Are you kidding?
Generally stock spoilers aren't going to do anything performance-wise to a car though. Especially not an economy car.

front and rear 'spoilers' are useful, but technically a front 'spoiler' is called a splitter, and the rear [lower] spoiler is called a diffuser. And of course the regular spoiler that usually mounts on the trunk. Underbody aerodynamics can have a heckuva lot more effectiveness than a rear lid spoiler can, the new C6 corvette Z06 doesn't have a rear lid spoiler; they improved stability by tweaking underbody aero.

unless your road racing like the realtime ( and is wind tested if you were) you do not need some stupid crap like that
your fwd think about it you want everything on the front tires why would you want to take anything from the front?
