Default Exhaust Difference between H22 vs. H23

I've tried searching, but does anyone know if the exhaust is different for H22 vs. H23 after the cat ? If i've a rusted intermediate exhaust pipe (pipe before the axle back exhaust), can I replace the SRV Prelude exhaust with a SR Prelude exhaust pipe?

*I asked because I can get a new, but cheap H23 intermediate pipe for my H22 prelude.

I need some real answers cause I've seen threads with "maybe". Also, parts sites stated different parts number for the pipe.

THanks in advance guys.

find a local muffler shop.....not a chain
and they can probably weld in some pipe cheaper than you can find a replacement

since i can get the new intermediate pipe for 50 bucks, and it's new with no rust. And my stock SRV exhaust has rust all over the place casue it's a 12 years old car already.
Even if I wanna get some cheapy pipes welded on, i'm not sure how much rusty pipes must be cut off to get a clean surface for welding. Worst part is, the pipe came off completely from the flange. So, that kinda welding isn't bulletproof either.

pipe is pipe. unless your upgrading to stainless mandrel (some towns local can do this as well not mine ) then i would just got to a local shop like said above. i was just quoted by a shop yesterday it would cost 45 bucks for new piping. So far ive had that "cheapo" pipe on my silver lude for almost year and a half and its holding up just fine.

I have an "H23" cat-back with a 4th Gen "H22" header and cat. There is NO difference in length.

unless i am mistaken, from everything i have read, including AndyD's post, the difference in the exhaust system between the H22 and H23 will be only really the upper header section and the downpipe

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by tarheelsoldier &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">unless i am mistaken, from everything i have read, including AndyD's post, the difference in the exhaust system between the H22 and H23 will be only really the upper header section and the downpipe</TD></TR></TABLE>

Actually, the H23 and H22 headers are exactly the same length. From what I read, the catalytic converters are different lengths. I read that the VTEC catalytic converter is longer so the cat-back exhaust is shorter. Based on my personal experience, this information is NOT true.

I have a thermal cat-back. I had this cat-back with my H23 OEM header and cat. I then switched to an H22 so I was using an OEM H22 header with my Si cat. The length after the entire exhaust was mounted was EXACTLY the same as when I had it with my H23 header. I am now running an SMSP header with the supplied cat for a "4th Gen VTEC". Again, it is EXACTLY the same length as the other configurations.

Unless there is something unique about my car, all i can say is that there is NO DIFFERENCE between the two models.
