... follow your nose
... seriously though... when you do the pressure test, if its not obviously then you should be able to smell it out... man i hate the smell of coolant

Do a coolant system pressure check. If it comes back fine, don't worry about it.

Sounds that that might be the problem . If its new.. and your having an issue. You might have added a cap with a bad spring or weak.. even tho its new.
try a new cap just as a test.

For that matter, just to be safe and I don't know how often you add new coolant/have changed the coolant but remove the hose from the overfill tank and the radiator and make sure there's no blockage like built up gunk from old fluid or anything.

thanks. ill try those...im sure theres no leak tho ive looked everywhere...my brother said its been doing this but im not sure if it did with the stock cap i have to ask him....cause i just traded cars with him for a few months
With a high pressure radiator cap the whole system has more pressure. I had to change the O-rings on the water pipe. That pretty much fixed the problem, cause thats where it was leaking from. It's possible you may have a leak elsewhere. My leak was pretty difficult to narrow down. I noticed evaporated coolant on the water pump side just under the motor mount. Didnt think much of it. I cleaned it up using a squirt bottle of water and check it at the end of the week. It was there again. Also I had to keep on filling the res.tank up. Couldnt figure out where all the coolant was going?? Maybe that will help.
The surest way would to find out would be to pressureize the system/pressure test it and see where its leaking. It's possible it could be in more than 1 area.

oo.. so what car/motor is it? maybe its the head gasket. is it over heating too?

i used to have ej sohc turbo. my coolant disappeared too. It lead me to conclude that it was the head gasket. It only overheated while driving hard on the freeway.
