pilot bearing into flywheel problem
I bought a new ACT XTSS clutch kit, along with a Fidanza flywheel, and The pilot bearing will not fit inside. Is there anything I need to do to fix this problem? I do not know all of the details because Im not in the same city as my car, so my parents have been relaying the messages to me from the mechanics. I would have installed this myself, but since my engine is getting replaced under warranty, and the clutch needs replaced too, they said they would install it for free.
Thanks in advance.

Its a PITA....generally its easier if you cool the bearing and heat the flywheel....then beat it with a large hammer and hope you dont f it up in the process. Or you can get a press/take it to a shop with a press and rock that out.

It's at the shop now. Supposedly the mechanic told my dad it's about 2 mm too big for the hole. Would it hurt anything if he pressed it in? does the bearing need to be able to move or anything of that sort?

If its 2mm too big, then its not right, but generally they are extremely tight. You wont be able to press that in and its not suppose to move....either way, get the right bearing.

Just making sureee</TD></TR></TABLE>
That's the only way you can press it in. It's got a ledge on the front side that it bottoms out on when pressed in from the rear.
