Default 99-00 Civic SI Strut Bar on 99-00 Hatch?

I've done a couple of searches but cant find the answer. I just picked up an SI bar for a good price and I want to mount it to the ole' EK hatch. I see that there are marks in the metal where it would go if it were an SI.

Does anyone know the part number from honda, or where I can find the proper hardware to mount this bar? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ran a search but couldn't find anything other than the part numbers for the bolts themselves.

So I PM'd the guy asking where he gets his part numbers from and directed him to this thread. He was actually "online" so hopefully he'll reply here with some useful information.

Good luck man.

No problem man...many have forgotten that the whole reason we're all here in the first place is to get, and give helpful information.

I'll let you know if he responds to my PM with anything.

I Shot 50 Cent (1:53 AM 1/12/2007): I noticed in a thread from last year, you helped someone out with the Honda Part Number for strut bar bolts. If you dont mind...where do you get your part numbers from? Is there a site you use for reference?

I Shot 50 Cent (1:54 AM 1/12/2007): Basically...I'm trying to help the guy in this thread out a little bit...but you may have the knowledge he's looking for.

Try2Live4God (2:37 AM 1/12/2007): do u know what year SI he got it off of?
I Shot 50 Cent (2:37 AM 1/12/2007): Oh...99-00 Si's have different p/n's? I did not know that.

This has been the PM convo. Feel free to PM him so you can get some better help than you're getting from me. Good luck man.

There is no bolts, by the way. They're studs that are welded to the chassis. I just used some grade 8 bolts from Tacoma Screw.

All you need to do is drill out those indentations and buy 4 bolts, 8 washers, and 4 nuts from a hardware store.

If all you need are the nuts, it should be the same from the integra. It's #7 in the diagram.

The part # is 94050-08070

I was actually under the impression that the original poster needed the part number for the Strut Bar itself, not the nuts.

Iunno, haha.

Your sig is great! Although, Miatas have great potential, and generally dominate at the local Autocross.

He already has the bar. He needs nuts and bolts. Unfortuantely, there are no stock bolts, since they are studs welded on. He just needs to go get some grade 8 hardware.

thanks for the help guys. Somewhere someone said that there are special bolts with "figure 8" clips that mount from the bottom to help distribute the weight. Maybe he was nuts, or they were parts from comptech. Thanks for all the help. I guess i'll hit the hardware store for some high grade bolts, washers, and nuts.

Old, dirty pic, I apologize JDM junkies.

Look closely at where the tower bar mounts. This is a Type-R style tower bar, but same idea and same mounting. I have a 96 civic sedan, same issue you had (IM is not stock.) I put the bar about where it goes. only one of the holes on each side might line up (thats how I had it.) Drill into the frame first with a 1/4" drill bit (use oil, this can get hot) and step it up to the bit that is just bigger than the bolt you use. Since you do not have studs...what I did is call comptech. 18$ for a pair of these two bolt studs welded to this thin *** metal bar. you drill the holes and slide this bar that looked like a wide "U" and it goes through the frame. put the bar over it and use those bolts (part #7 as that guy said) and that will attach it. I dont know what a figure 8 clip is. Search the archives in the EK/EG forum for 'civic tower bar' and there is an old DIY in there with a bit more info.

PLEASE NOTE!!! If you have the stock engine, the D16Y7, and you have a totally stock intake, that plastic box will be in the way and the 99 Si tower bar will not work.
