I've never heard of them or their superchargers which would make me a little weary of forking over $4k but they seem fairly legit.... interested to see some testimonials from this kit

. Sounds like a good setup for a Supercharger kit. Can't wait.

Is the 10psi kit safe on the stock motor or are they recommending internal upgrades?

Depends on what your definition of safe is... In reality with the right injectors, fuel pump, plugs, downpipe, exhaust size, and TUNING I think that 10psi would be just fine(on pump gas) w/ stock internals . keep in mind that proper maintenance/upkeep would increase the longevity of such a setup.

Paramount remark indeed. Point taken. Thanx!

By the way....are the HP ratings that they are stating in WHP or crank HP?

Taken from RedShift's homepage:

The RedShift Twin-Screw Supercharger System for the 2006 Civic Si will be released on schedule Jan 20th. Only the 5 psi kit Stage 1 kit will be available at first, making 260 hp using our advanced in-house engine management capabilities. A 295 hp mid-boost intercooled setup using in-house engine management will be available January 31st with an option to upgrade to the Hondata reflash for a very small fee (tbd).

It seems that the stage 3 kit isn't even finished yet, as they are talking about releasing the stage 1 and 2 in the next few weeks.

Are you ready for the new generation of supercharged Honda/Acuras? The Stage 3 kit comes with the reflash which means they have it completely tuned for 10 psi right?? And it's weird, that you can get the stage 3 for the same price as the stage 2...why would they even offer a Stage 2?? especially when you get the k-pro with the Stage 3..The place does look legit though...Who's SI is that in the shop in the picture? I'm not sure if it was the guy that opened this thread or not..if not..maybe we can get him to post some pictures..if he's on HT. Just a thought..But hell, i'm excited about it...I'm already trying to find a way to get 4,400 dollars!!! LOL..although i'd probably kill myself with 350 hp...

There was nothing on there stating that Kpro would be available, as it WON'T. The stage 3 kit will be able to run up to 8.5 psi as that is all the Hondata reflash can do at this point. The SI in the shop picture is one of the guy's that works at the shop, he may even be the shop owner, I forget right now. I know he's on HT as he posted here before, just search to see if you can find the old thread. As far as stage 2 and 3 costing the same, I'm pretty sure that this is a limited-time discount. I think once the stage 3 kit is finished and available, the price will slightly increase.

sounds very fishy to me. the HP numbers arent adding up if they havent named which twin screw supercharger they are using. and i have built a few supercharged hondas.

i dont understand why they WERE working with rotrex, but now they are using a twin screw blower, without naming who... (i am assuming eaton)

just because they have a picture of the SI in the shop, doesnt mean that SI is equipped with their super-dope supercharger system.

go with a trusted name like comptech or jackson. (roots blowers)

the jackson has a little more reputation than this no name, non-existant product.

http://www.supercharger.com/Sh...56783

buyer beware...... it will only be worth getting excited over when customer testimonials are out. i hope its legit. as many many companies have done R&D on products before that never surfaced.

from redshifts website:

"And fyi.... we are no longer working with Rotrex on development due to distribution issues. Twin-screw supercharger systems are now our main focus. These twin-screw systems will have the best mid-range power of any supercharger system available with high boost effeciencies comparable with the best forced induction on the market. More details coming soon."

Well eaton maily uses a roots type blower we are using a twin screw. We are using Lysholm Units. Big difference between Roots and twin screw.
Hondata can now do more than 8.5psi from my understanding.

ANy other questions I will try to answer them for you guys thanks

maybe these guys are willing to purchase your product, but personally the gossip type of stuff on your website has got me shying away.

for example:

"The 8thcivic.com forum recently deleted a long topic/post that we had going. They said we were "advertising", and another vendor or vendors got us kicked off. We've lost that topic for good I think, but we are now on 8thcivic.com as independent members (not so apparently associated with RedShift). So, we'll be involved to keep you updated as best we can. "

and...

"And fyi.... we are no longer working with Rotrex on development due to distribution issues. Twin-screw supercharger systems are now our main focus. These twin-screw systems will have the best mid-range power of any supercharger system available with high boost effeciencies comparable with the best forced induction on the market. just sounds really wishy-washy to me. good luck though.

Will any of these supechargers meet smog requirements in California? I am thinking the 260 whp might if the fuel tuning is right. I currently run the Comptech SC with the basic pulley system (stage 1) and still pass smog. I am getting 260 whp and 171 torque. I do have to admit, the current Reflash for the SC fuel tunes the engine so it's a bit lean, but I assume this is how they get it to pass California smog.

Are the different stages basically a smaller set of pulleys and different fuel tuning? Can a person buy a stage 1 and upgrade to a stage 2 or 3. With Comptech you can upgrade the pulley system (I think it increases boost to around 8 psi) but your screwed in regards to new fuel tuning and smog. This is this why I am waiting until Hondata releases something "like" a K-Pro, before I do anymore engine mods.

Just interested.

Thanks
