Default Advice on tires...

I've got a 91 civ hatch on skunk2 coils and KYB struts. I've got 17's on it and currently I run 205-40R-17's on it. Now that I'm done with the swap, I'm looking for something a little stickier on the pavement than my Fuzion ZR1's. They tracked well, but now that I've got the LS under the hood, I want something a little better, but also wears well.

My question is what would you do...get better tires and/or see if I can fit some 215's in the wells without rubbing too bad. My 205's get VERY little rub, but only when I've got the wheel turned ALL the way. I don't mind losing a slight bit turning angle if I can get better traction with 215's.

Any help would work. I'm mostly looking at the Falken Azenis as the treadwear seems to be well off, and the traction I've heard is supurb.

Thanks in advance!

By the way my driving style is spirited with the occasional non-competitve run in the mountains. Non competitive, but WELL-spirited.

Thanks, again.

Ive always sworn by Bridge-stone Patenza's , My last set was i believe 195/50/15 and hooked up very well. But I did wish I had gotten somthing a little bit wider so the 205's might work well for you.

16's I like. I plan to get those when money permits... However, currently I'm stuck with my 17's. I got the 17's originally to build a show car. Then...I said expletive show, and I'm building a daily driver/weekend warrior...

Here's a shot of the 17's on my EF, for ya...as stated, dropped on Skunk2's. The rear is slammed, and the front can be dropped another...3/4 inch...

i would probably switch to a 14 or 15" wheel/tire combo. you will like the feel better then the 17's it will handle 10x better. just get some good sticky rubber azenis are cheap and stick pretty well.

A 215/60/14 is roughly 24.2" tall and a 215/40/17 is 23.8 roughly.
