Default AEM fuel rail

I tried to search but no luck, my 92 prelude SI is running really rich, mileage is bad and fuel smell is bad out exhaust. It has stock injectors but an aem fuel rail, stock TB and IM. Does the aem fuel rail really push out that much extra gas. Im gonna go get the stock fuel rail, but curious to see if any others have had any experience with what parts i need to lean out the mixture so i can keep it on.
thanks

no the fuel rail will not cause that. something else is going on. could be bad injectors, spark plugs, wires or maybe some other things that i can think of right now

The rail has zero effect on how much fuel gets dumped in the engine.

Get a good FPR and a good tune up.

Right now it doesnt have an upgraded fpr, should i spend the money and get an aem fpr? my friend said the fpr wouldnt really help control the amount of fuel going thru tho...was he accurate in that statement?

The fpr isn't going to solve your problem. Fix your problem now before you add more to the situation.

Are you throwing any CEL's?

Dude, don't waste your time taking it to Autozone, you can check the codes yourself with a paperclip. Search...

yea autozone is a waste...on the driverside...there is a blue clip that is tucked under the center console towards the back(meaning closes to the fire wall) and like your mans said, just jump them with the paper clip and turn you key over and it will tell you what codes are throwing..

yep, check your CEL and see if it might be a bad sensor. some sensors that go bad may cause your car to run rich.

Its sound like my car. I was throwing a Code 45, running rich or lean. I was getting bad mileage, it ended up being primary O2 sensor and one bad fuel injector. After i changed those the CEL went away and my mileage was back to normal

It turns out the guy i bought it from didnt mention he had a SAFC installed and then took it out, but forgot to splice back some wires together( green and white if i remember right). Me and my friend looked at ecu last night and saw this so since i already had a safc v2, we hooked all the wires back up correctly and it runs so much better... thanks for all your help tho
