ITR Expo Questions!
The ITR Expo is just around the corner and I have some questions. I will be attending Sunday night through Tuesday but I am not “registered” and will not be paying the $300 to race. I am going to tag along with the Chicago caravan, possibly with a couple Type R owners from Wisconsin. How many of you will be joining the Chicago caravan at 1:30 pm?
Since I am not registered to race, will I be charged to observe and park at Gingerman Raceway? And can I pay to eat with the rest of you guys for the “optional dinner” Sunday night and the banquet on Monday night? I don’t particularly want to pay $300 for just food since I am not racing. How many of you will be showing up with your R’s who are not registered to attend? I was wondering how many Type R owners are just going to observe.
Even though I will not be racing I’ll be very busy taking pictures and videos of the event.
Here are several pictures from last summer at Gingerman. These pics should get you guys excited!
I’m looking forward to meeting all of you!

You will not be charged to watch the event. As of right now, there is no banquet, and if there were, all you would have to pay is $25, not $300.
hey, that's me giving Ken (nsxtasy) and some dude in a red NSX the pass signal at Gingerman last year.
itrsport, even though your question has already been answered, no you will not be charged to be a spectator.

Josh - would you be willing to be our designated camera man?
We need someone with a good eye for motorsport to take lots of stills and some video footage. I'll provide the equipment you just need to provide poetic license and push the button.
Let me know.

Ausmith - When are you driving to the Expo?
Yes, I would enjoy doing that for you. Is your video camera digital and would you mind if I took a copy of the recordings to use for my web site? Either way I'll be happy to help you out.
I'm planning on making my site one of the central media resources for the ITR Expo. Everyone who attends the Expo is welcome to contribute pictures and videos.

Speaking of taking pics and video, I really think that we should put together a video or DVD of the event, everything from the road-trip up there to in car footage, etc. What do you guys think????

Josh, I believe that spectating would be free, same as riding with instructors or some students. I dunno if Phil would handle it differently this time. But if everything stays the same, you're welcome to ride with me again, like last time how we chased down the sc'ed Cobra!

Wes and Josh - making a video or DVD, mixed to some good tunes, is defineatley what I had in mind. We also need to gather some pictures for the media coverage.
I don't have a digi vid cam. I am assuming that someone is bringing one and that they will let us/you use it as our primary camera guy.
Will anyone do that for us? Anyone?
One last thing I would like to do is to get 1 picture of everyone next to their car. I think the best way to handle this is to do it during tech inspection. I promise it won't slow anything down.
Finally, we need to think about how we are going to do a big group shot. I was thinking of having all of the cars grid up on the home stretch in front of the tower, and then have everyone get together in front on the side of the grid -like in a football team picture - and have the pics taken from the tower.
Clayton - who got his is brake pads yesterday!
