Only 5 minutes? Did you have fresh racing brakeoil?
How many minutes do you drive at the track, nonstop with the HP+.

30min w/o problems. I never run more than approx 30 min w/o a pit stop (cause I'm driving, flagging, eating, making sure the event is going smooth and also helping some people out with passenger seating)
yes I bleed brakes for fresh oil every 3 (approx.) weeks during the summer rush (I organize lapping days).
I recently changed my entire OEM brake lines and it made a noticable difference in the oil conservation.
I used CanadianTire dot3 Ford oil. It has a respectable boiling point.
I would strongly suggest going for at least HP+ for track use. To give you an idea, I could use the HP+ for our 6 months winter...any pad less aggressive than that isn't a track oriented brak pad.

Axxis Ultimates on track will fade, and pretty quickly. You'll also eat through the pads quickly. And they'll dust a lot. And not have much braking torque. So...yeah, skip 'em. They're waaaaay underkill for R-comps. They're pretty underkill for a decent street tire, for that matter.

Pretty much agree.
However, they are the best cold-stop pad I have ever used. Period. This made them great for autox and fantastic for stopping quickly on the road when some idiot in front of you decides to do something stupid.
But for the track, skip them.

i agree with everyone else. they'll fade. i use that setup on the street and for autocross. but for track days i use spec-b or VR from cobalt.
alot of people here are repping the hp+, these were the first pads i bought for my car, when learning the limits of my car they were great but once i really started to push it they didn't have what it took, i only have 9'' rotors so heat plays a big part. at the end of a 20 minute session they would be loosing alot of there grip. I then switched to gransport gs3's and i fell in love. these pads are great, evan when relativley cold, and they lasted me a full season of lapping and solosprint. On my last event the pads were getting low so i used my old hawks for the practice sessions and i hated them.
It depends on the track and the conditions.
On PIR which really only has one hard braking area I've had success using the Metal masters and the Ultimates. 80* or under.
But I went down to Thunder Hill and the brakes were smoking. Even on a cool Febuary day.

Axxis Ultimates with stock disks and fresh fluid were smoking on our '90 Integra RS after I did a few familiarization laps of Pueblo Motorsports park in 30-40 degree weather. I thought Axxis Ultimates were supposed to be better than they evidently are...
Tires used were 205/50-15 Hankook R-S2 Z212's and the Integra weighs in at 2340lbs with full fuel load.

Rotors will be no problem.
The Ultimates will fade on the track no matter how you drive. They should be reserved as nice, but dusty street pads. Not expensive eother.

Cobalt GT-Sports will be better than the Ultimates, and still streetable. some of the new Cobalt compounds should be better yet. call Andy.

Depends on how much power you're making, the weight of your car (I'm assuming the '92-95 Civic hatchback seen in your avatar?), which R-tires you're running, and which tracks you'll be running.
If you're running up to ~130whp, they should hold up well at the vast majority of tracks. The 11.1" rotors have amazing heat capacity that most people posting here don't seem to be taking into account. I'm making an estimated 95whp with stock 9.5" brakes on my CRX with 225 RS2s/205 Azenis, and I don't bother swapping out the Ultimates for most track events because they hold up fine. At braking-intensive tracks, I do swap in the Cobalt Spec-Bs to give a larger buffer
If you're running 150whp+ with R6es at a braking-intensive track with few cooling zones, you'll be fading them no question.
You really won't know whether you can get away with them or not until you give them a try.
On the street with street tires, they'll be more than enough.

Green pads will smoke and will also fade early. I've never had properly bedded Ultimates smoking.

Smoking - as in pulling into the pits and smelling a "burnt clutch" smell then stepping out and seeing smoke (not much, some barely visible wisps) coming off the rotor hub area where the pads are. The pads did work fine, didn't experience any fade just some smoking. The pads were bedded in with brand new rotors like I bed in Hawk HP+'s with about 6-8 medium stops (45-0mph) and 4 maximum stops (60-0mph) then let it rest overnight.

That's not a problem. I've gotten smoke with just about any pad. The burning smell is also normal (I love the smell of cooked brakes in the morning
). The Axxis Ultimate friction material is claimed to be good up to about 850-900 degrees, so you'd expect anything to be smoking and smelling at those sorts of temps. Your session apparently didn't even get them that high though if you weren't experiencing fade.
To give you an idea of what it takes to fade them on Azenis, you'd have to be running at least 1:14s at BeaveRun (a braking-intensive track) with a 2500lb car (incl. driver) putting down about 125whp and running the little 9.5" front brakes. Beaver has 2 consecutive braking zones from about 120-45 or so, about 25 seconds apart.
By the way, a tip for bedding pads - coming to a complete stop after each brake application can lead to uneven deposits in the layer of friction material on the rotor, which will cause brake vibration. I usually haul it down from around 75-15 and keep it rolling in 2nd gear.

I don't know how you'd compare this, but in a 2200lb car with ~140hp, I faded GT-Sports at Beaver, running ~1:11-1:12s. That was with the 10.x" Integra brakes. Given that, and given that a friend with a similar car (bit more power, slower laptimes though) absolutely DESTROYED his Ultimates (first time out after proper bedding, pads down to the backing plates), I don't ever consider them appropriate for track use.

Your friend must have some crappy braking technique then, because Ultimates aren't all that much different from GT-Sports.
Were you braking for 7 and 9, you pansy
And does 2200 include the driver weight?

I actually don't know about his braking technique. That particular event was like 3 years ago as well, so I don't remember real well. As for ME braking, hell no, no braking or lifting for 7 or 9
