Anyone else not impressed with the comfortability of the SI seats??
I just got back from lunch, and I must say, that all in all, I don't really like the seats in my car...I love they way they look...but i'm a bigger guy, and with the side bolsters..the right side of the seat kinda digs into my right side..kinda causing some grief over long periods of time in the vehicle..just wanted you guys thoughts and concerns on how u feel about it..and maybe a possible alternative..??
Buy different seats that fits better to your body form.
I personally like them and the design. Much more sporty than my previous car.

The seats break in over time.
You can change them.. however if you do so you will cause an SRS light on the dash due to the side airbags along with seatbelt issues...
i drove on a 12hr one way trip to tenn for deals gap and no problems
and i'm 6'4" 225

Any of you guys ever driven by like a shopping area with a bunch of windows ( I know u have) and looked at your car, and you look really big in it?? LOL.. I look at that and feel like I look stupid..i'm about 6'3' 230..It looks like my head is coming out of the sunroof...lol..oh well, just a thought...
Great seats, if you are a bigger guy, you would HATE the seats in the SRT-4. I am 6'1 about 210 and they pinched the hell out of my legs and ribs. I had an RSX-S with leather before my Si and I slid all over the leather, really like the grip of the cloth.
I think these seats have to be moved around to fit you exactly before they are comfortable. I've played with my seat for over a month before I got it "just right". It is still a bit tough on long trips, but it is very dealable. FYI, I'm 5'11" and 175lbs, so I am a little bit smaller. "Results may vary".
I'm curious if an auto upholstery shop could re-design your seat for you so as to keep the airbag shells on the back. Worth checking if it becomes a problem.

but i'm a young buck i suppose... 23 y/o (although i feel like im' gettin old now
) so maybe the whole comfort thing doens't really come into play for me yet?

yeah, it's tuff being a 27 y/o fat ***...LOL..but I try and survive..and I don't like do the gangsta lean in it or anything..but you do tend to lean a bit to the right when you're driving a manual..so that could be it too...the side bolster digs right into lower back..making it hurt like hell..and it probably doesn't help that I sit on my butt all day at work...which probably doesn't help my back either...

yeah i'm not aobut that gagsta lean either, in fact it's annoying when i see other people riding in their civic hella leaned back n ****.. can't even see over the fuqqin steering wheel n ****
I think i remember when the civic first came out (8th gen that is) there was a guy here who's dad wanted to change the seat and that's it specifically becuase of back problems and love everything about the car BUT The seat..
maybe you can buy a used TL seat and custom fab some mounting brackets and get it in there? I'm sure those seats are OOH SOOO COMFY!

Well i'm probably the heaviest person in this room at 6'1 240lb. And i can honestly say that they're comfortable as hell for me. Nothing digs into either of my sides. I like them even more during cornering cause the way they're designed keeps you in your seat instead of sliding around all over the place.

I'm 6'4" 280, on my extended test drive they felt really good. Of course, I have the Recaros in my Evo as well, and I had Recaro SRD's in my Toyota I had before that.

Our seats are Recaros? or made by Recaro or something?

LX seats are the same without the stitching i guess. its a snug fit for me. though i find myself stepping on the dead pedal for some support when i tackle above average speed turns, but its all good.
for the OP, how bout putting like a cushion on the backrest part. it should give your back some lift and shouldnt have the side bolsters dig into your side as much. though its not going to keep you in one place through a fast turn. better use that dead pedal to keep you still
just an idea, worth a try

I'm guessing that they are. Recaro actually makes a lot of seats for OE applications that never get labled as such.

Well Recaro or not i still wouldn't change them. They're comfy, stylish and original at the same time. Not too extreme like some of the racing seats i've seen
