Help: My AC broke can anyone help?
My aircondtioning is not functioning. I have a 96 Accord. I have noticed a few problems.
First:
When I turn the **** after about 6/8th of the way it starts to make a snapping noise. This is for the heat/cold ****.
Second:
The Heat and cold dont work. I think its a result of the **** or the **** is a result of this.
Third :
When I turn on the a/c and the engine is off I hear a scratching noise in the front of the car. We looked at it an its the air fans in the front that are making the nose.
If anyone knows how to fix this....I will be very grateful. Please someone help. Thanks in advance.

Its your **** thats broken, not your AC.

Why would you do this?

I turn off the engine turn on the heat and then turn on the AC. Since the AC automatically turns on both fans on my radiator it is a great way to cool down the engine. The interior of the car gets hot real quick tho

Well I didnt do it intentionally. I just did it and heard that noise. So I tried it again and relized it was the fans infront of the engine

so all I have to do is replace my ****? And that should fix all my problems? Someone suggested that I recharge my freon? Can that be possible too?
just replace the ****.. a quick diagnosis...switch the temp mode **** with fan speed ****..
If the condensor fan is hitting the shroud, this can be duplicated by accelerating the car quickly with the a/c on.. the noise is quite significant.. if the fan blades are hitting the shround then it is due to a bent front motor on the 94-97 series Accords.. these mounts will bend easily with the slightest "fender bender"...

why don't you just pop the hood to cool the engine?
Pop hood, HVAC blower, radiator fans, everything you can. Can't overcool a hot engine (well you don't wanna pour ice water on it).
Actually after a hard run, it's best to leave your motor running for a minute or two with the hood open and blower and heat on... this keeps the coolant flowing and gets the hotest coolant out of the motor and the cooler coolant out of the radiator and into the motor where it belongs.

yeah it takes me a minute or 2 to look at my times and get all the setting ready for the cool down process. Also I let the car cool for 5 minutes at a time then start it up for 30 seconds and then turn it back off and run the fans again. This helps circulate the hot coolant.
replacing the ***** did not work. Any other suggestions? I think its the actual lever that the **** pulls. How do i fix that?
