Default Clunking sound from rear.

Does anyone else get a "clunking" (for lack of a better term) sound from the rear of their R when going over some bumps (usually the meaner ones) and rougher roads? My suspension mods are KONI yellow dampers with Eibach Pro Kit springs. The suspension that was on there before were Neuspeed Race springs with stock Type R shocks (the guy before me put that suspension on). I've never experienced an R with stock suspension so I don't know if this is a normal sound to be getting. Thanks for any input.

mine used to do that, it ended up being the swaybar tapping against my axleback exhaust

alright well i was checking out the silent recalls and it turns out that there was one that said clunking from rear supspension so i checked it out and they said the bushing in the rear right trailing arm are defective. For civics honda will replace this free. Don't know bout you guys but that is some food for thought. me personally i am gonna go with the prothane urethane bushings as opposed to the stock honda ones. later

Hmm, I've never heard that about the Konis. The ones I have in their now have been in for less than 5000 miles. The R just turned over 27,000 miles. When I installed the suspension, I inspected the bushings and they "looked" okay, but visual inspection isn't always accurate. Well, I'll just live with it until I notice it becoming a problem. Thanks for the replies everyone.

MAKE SURE THE ENDLINK BUSHINGS ARE STILL GOOD!

Especailly if you only hear the clunk when going over a bump sideways (one rear wheel at a time)

bushings is probably your best bet...yeah i heard they're really good, but go soft sooner than others -- although it could be totally dependent on how you drive .. g'luck man!
