e-cutout or full 2.5 exhaust.
Hey quick question. Would I yield more performance from a e-cutout right before the cat or will a 2.5 exhaust all the way back be more beneficial.
thanks.
thanks.
If i were to use a cutout then i would buy a h22 header with a 3" exhaust and use a 3" e cutout. and then run a 2 1/2" cat and resonator to a twin loop muffler so i wouldn't feel too slow on a day to day basis

Would a 3" loose too much backpressure? I agree with a good header with a cutout.

Please look around and read a bit, there is no backpressure necessary, any exhaust pulsing that needs to be addressed is already taken care of inside the header. Take a look at 2point6's header test dyno sheets, he picked up about 15whp from just pulling the exhaust.
(I understand what you sort-of mean, its just a terminology thing)
Now, most h22s would not benefit from a 3 inch collector, ****, Randy made john's 2.35l engine a header with a 2.5" collector. It would lose too much velocity without that much air to fill it.
I, of course, am a proponent of open header.....e-cutouts are fun

did you get your e-cutout in before your cat. i cant find a decent place to get it in. i have 2.5 flex pipe that connects my RMF to the cat but there isnt enough room for the cutout and a flex pipe which is necessary for the header.
a few things. I wouldnt get a ecut if your all motor. you might not need the back pressure but the coolin of valves to fast will cause them to bend. second i used the ecut before..there really not that great, but alot of people like because it different an nija like
I don't really see the point for them myself, I mean if you tune the car with a 2.5inch full exhaust and then cut away that exhaust without changing the tune, it's not going to run as well anyway.
I guess you could use one of the nitrous outputs to do a new map for when you switched over to the cut out but that a lot of work for not really that much gain.

I have dc headders and I cut the flex pipe and had a smaller one put in then my cutout in between my cat conv and flex pipe, I noticed a difference with it open. Then I got 2.25 piping back so as to it not to lag when I daily drive with the cutout closed
