If your shifter is moving back and forth to much it would be the other shift rod that has the problem. There is a rubber bushing where the ther shift rod linkage rod bolts to the tranny and one behing the shifter its self. Replace those with the energy suspension pieces and you'll be good to go.

unless its missing the bitch pin and just has a bolt or something in it .. your fine.. even with ES bushings my shifter still moved side to side
and bitch pins are easy to get out but im sure its fine

ehh they are easy to get out if you have the proper tools. if not then your in for a world of ****. just get under there and start checkin stuff out. there is no easy "fix it" online answer for you my friend.

It could really be both. If theres any play in that pin then thats the problem. If theres no play its the bushings.
I had the same problem even after I got a short through. I thought that would help but it really didn't so I replaced the bushings the next day and I was golden.
While your ******* around down there replace the shifter. Get one on ebay for $20.

egay shifters are trash.. everyone ive had made things worse.. i stick to oem now
bitch pins really dont go bad... so i highly doubt thats his problem.. most sohcs even with ES bushings still have play

Thats what I used to say buy I have a couple friends that are running them on b series with 3 to 4 years on them. One guy is running 11.92 on one so its getting hard shifts and s 4 years old. I shut up about them after that. But I love my JG Edelbrock short throw. But there not cheap in the world of shifters.

True true. I picked it up at Battle from a vendor. It was his display piece but it was the last event of the year so I=he let it go for like $120 which was a steal at the time. Its alot like the teg shifter because it tilts back at the drive and over tword the driver if that makes any sense. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
And as for the energy suspension bushings, its some of the best money I have ever spent.
