Default Best Turbo Kit for The Buck.

I have a 96 gsr with 117k on the clock and I want to turbo it. I dont want to go crazy, maybe 6psi to 8psi daily. I have a few questions that id like to ask.

Is it safe to turbo an engine with 117k?

Whats the best kit for your buck? Im not really looking to spend alot.

What kind of numbers would i get from 6psi-8psi on a stock B18c?

I boosted my civic at 100K a few years ago, motor is still going strong. Get some good management and a good tune and you should be fine, dont skimp on that stuff. If your not looking to spend alot do some research and piece together your own kit, far less cash then buying a new pre-fabbed one.

117k is usually fine, except many hondas aren't maintained very well. For the most part, any non-ebay (ssauto, etc) kit using a genuine garrett/mitsu turbo will be great, assuming you go with hondata/crome/neptune, or even uberdata.

Do a compression test to make sure your motor is still healthy, theres no point in boosting a bad motor. But peicing together your own kit is probably the cheapest way. And psi means nothing without telling us what turbo. 7 psi on a little turbo = little power, 7 psi on a big turbo = alot more power.

You can piece a good kit togather for $2k or less.
Especially if you are able to do some fab work your self.
