spray paint on cf hood

You want to use the least aggressive means of cutting through the spray paint so you don't break through the clear coat too much. I would start with a mild rubbing compound and a buffer, or better yet, try just a polishing compound to start. If this doesn't cut thru it, which it should, then try a more aggressive compound, and lastly if the compound fails, try some 1500 grit wet-sand paper.
Once you get through the spray paint, reverse the steps back. If you had to go all the way to 1500 grit wetsand paper, then use rubbing compound, then polishing compound to remove the tiny scratchs, then use a cleaner wax, and then a nice sealant/wax. Remember, you want to use the least aggressive method as possible, maybe straight polishing compound will remove it.

i work at body shop. heres wat u do. take laquer thinner....he quicker u buy this stuff the easier it will be to come off. laquer thinner will completly erase un-cured paint then follow with a wetsand, compound, polish
i say put some jasco paint remover on it by the way jasco taste good to.jk try buffing it or maybe hit it with some 1500 or 2000 grit wet then try buffing
I would try some graffiti remover or some lacquer thinner (with first trying under the hood to make sure it doesn't screw up the finish) If not, I am looking for a hood for my track rat, with graffiti being OK.
Most CF hoods come with a gel coat, not a clear coat. The gel coat is much softer use something like googone first Laquer thinner is the last option here, a good buff job and a very smooth rubbing compound will get it off eventually,it will take a while but go slow and dont stay in one section too long or you will ruin it.go over it once or twice then let it cool then repeat.
I work at a detail shop, and my experience with Spray paint would be to use Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner/Polish #83. A DA sander or rotary buffer with Meguiars Cutting Pad should pull it off. On a scale of 1-10 on the cut for the polish compound is 6. Follow with a good swirl free polish (Meguiars #82, cut is at 3) with a polish pad, and then a glaze if you wish with a finishing charcoal pad.
If you've never used a rotary buffer I would suggest using the DA (Dual Action) Sander with your cutting/polishing pads. If you don't have any of that stuff, a stop at your local detail shop can fix the problem.
