Theft rate and insurance rate of civic hatchback vs crx
Hey guys. i currently have a crx si and am thinking to get a civic si hatch. im wondering what you guys are paying that have both the crx and civic hatchback. also, what in your opinon is at more of a risk for theft (or preferred target). i live in the city with the highest car theft rate per capita
(modesto, ca). im just trying to get ideas since i was looking at other cars like EGs, EKs, EMs, DC2s, DC4s, DAs, and AE86s but i keep coming back to the EF chassis. it looks that parts are easier to find for the civic hatchback then the CRX well in my area anyways. it will not be swapped, it will stay d series with a possible JRSC. Thanks in advance. i pay about 500 a year now for collision, underinsured and uninsured.

When you get into an accident, and the other party is unninsured.

its when the other party doesnt have enough coverage in an accident, like say they only have the basic amount and the cost of medical bills etc exceeds that amount. rather then being stuck with the extra, your insurance is supposed to pick up the remaining amount. it applies to car damage also i think

WRONG!!!!
Underinsured is when someone does have enough insurance to cover your damages.
Uninsured is when someone doesn't have any insurance.

I have everything that I can get on my 96 civic it runs $314 6 mo, and my CRX $270. I have higher than state minimum limits to protect myself. They are actually rated lower the older they are cause it is cheaper to write them off as a total.
Typically the older the vehicle the cheaper it gets because the value is low and the total cost is cheap. There is rates in there for theft but they decrease over the years of the car.
That help? If not I can explain more.

a little. i checked into full coverage for my car through my insurance carrier (amica) and for full coverage, it would have been 1k more. they also said my car had a value of about 750, so after my deductible (500) i would only recieve 250. they dont cover any modifications or customization. im thinking of going to AAA. my girlfriend has them and is quite happy, and they cover modifications as long as there is proof, reciepts.
i was kinda more concerned about what is considered more of a theft risk, a ef civic hatch or an ef crx. i currently drive my crx everywhere (only car besides my gfs jetta). it was broken in when i lived in a brand new neighborhood last year (nothing touched inside, must have not noticed steering wheel missing). i was wondering if the civic hatch would be less of a theft risk since it is more common then the crx.

They are rated the same here in our state for theft which is probably the same across other states. As far as insurance is concerned. Outside of insurance people will go after the CRX before the hatch. That is at least what I see is more common.
