EK3 centre console - Can JDM climate control fit USDM??
Hi Guys,
im new to this forum, so please keep help me out. Keep flames to a minimum please, lol.
ive got a serious question at hand.
I drive a 1996 honda civic (Ej6) and my center consoles busted
I'm thinking to buy a center console from a honda civic EK3 that has automatic climate control
will this console plug and play to my stock USDM harness or do i have to do some modifications to it for it to work?
Ive seen people install 96-98 CTR consoles to their USDM civics but those dont have auto climate control.
The people who have information please let me know, so i can decide to purchase this item
thanks

The 96-98 US spec climate control is mechanical while the the jdm one is electrical.
a 99-00 civic is electrical.
You need to probably get all the parts for a 99-00 conversion and find plugs for this climate control. You can probably color match the wires to get it to work.

It is not plug and play. You'll need to basically do the '99-'00 dash swap only without the climate control, bezel, etc... you know, all the stuff you can see.
And as the above poster said, you'll need to make sure you haev teh right plugs too, which easiest would be to have the seller include them with the climate control.

FALSE!!!
I had a CTR Climate control in my Civic. All 96-98 are cable driven & the 99-00 is electrical. When installing the RHD A/C control, minor trimming is needed on the left mounting tab. You will also need to get the plastic bezel for the hazards and rear defroster. (They are curved differently)

If you go from mechanical to electric you are going to have to swap your blowers too... converted my 96-98 to a 99-00 dash.. was a pain in the a$$ but well worth it
try this link... should have everything you need for the conversion there
