Default cometic head gaskets

what have you guys heard of these head gaskets???
i have one in my boosted car and was wondering because lately i've been running a little low on coolat and car is kind of overheating every once in a while.. i'll top it off then next week same thing.
or do you think it's because the intercooler is blocking the radiator???
i know that might have something to do with it but what do you guys think???

Try running the fan wire to ignition so it's constantly running. Might solve your overheating issue every once in a while. I've read a few threads about people having issues with cometic head gaskets and that oem ones are better... How true that is, I don't know.

On the other hand, I read more of cometic head gaskets blowing than oem ones.

I hear that too, but the simple fact that cometic is a proven company leads me to believe its user error actually amtter a fact ive been using an autozone headgasket for the last year no problems and the head has been off 3 times since then and i reused it no problems, now im boosting and im going to use a .054 cometic headgasket with GE head studs, so hopefully im luckier than the rest!

i am a believer in cometic. i will be running one soon. i believe tha the cause of a cometic hg failure is

1. a warped head that wasnt shaved down prior to installing
2. improper install

most of our racers and street cars ran cometic gaskets at one time and were having problems that's why we started boring out the oem honda gaskets and we have found that they hold up much better the only time we sagest cometic is if you need a thicker gasket then stock

Cometic and/or Felpro MLS are good gaskets. I use Copper Coat on them however, I spray Copper Coat on the layers, and front/back and let it get tacky before setting the gasket on the block and installing and torquing the head. Hope this helps. They work good!
