I need to change the rear speakers on my four door 95 Teggy. I'm looking at some Polk Audio DB 650's, but I don't know if these are the right fit. On the four doors, they mont under back window panel.
I know that the front door speakers are 6.5 inch speaker, but can someone chime in clue me in on what size I need for the back? And, are the back speakers three way? And, is replacing the back speakers hard to do?
Oh, I did try and do a search, but came up with nothing, thanx in advance...
Peace

Back speakers are usually only 2 ways. I know people who disconnect the tweeter on the rear speakers. The front speakers are the most important, back not so much. You don't need and probably shouldn't put 3 ways in the back. You should change the front speakers with some nice components while you're at it.

Back Speakers - Replace with a good 2 or 3 way 6x9 speaker. 3 silver screws from under the deck lip hold the speaker cover. You can access them from the trunk. Then four 8mm bolts hold down each speaker.
For added punch, if you have the time to remove the rear deck lid, dynamat the whole rear deck panel and then install your speakers. My rears hit bass notes nicely and sound real crisp.

Here a link to the speakers I would like to replace the factory speakers with, but if you look in the lower right hand, you’ll see what the web site came up with for the speakers on my four door back panel, (6.5 inch round speakers) looks like front door speakers.
I feel they may have gotten a four door mixed up with a three door hatch. Another concern I have is, that these are three way speakers and most folks here on HT feel I need only two-way speakers. I also noticed that 6x9 speaker are mostly three way speakers and oval in shape as is the shape of the speakers in my four door. Will the round 6.5 fits in the oval space in the back panel?
And if I go with three way speakers rather then two-ways, are the three-way speakers a straight swap? Or would I have to do more to make them work correctly? Any help would be greatly appreciated…

I don't think the 6.5 will fit without modification. Secondly I don't know why you want 3 ways. 3-ways and 2-ways are the same size. They just split up the frequencies differently. A three way has 3 separate speakers in it and a 2 way only has two. A component will take the tweeter and move it elsewhere. You won't be able to tell the difference between 3 ways and 2 ways, so just get whatever's cheaper if your merely looking for replacement stuff. However if your looking to upgrade your equipment, I'd put 2-ways in the back and get new components in the front.

No extra modifications to fit a 3 way 6x9 in that rear panel. I've had Fosgate Punch Series and Alpine Type R 6x9's in my DB before, and they fit fine. A 6.5 speaker will not work in that provisional spot. The information you have is for a 3 door hatch. Most people overlook the sedan's speaker size and just state it the same as any ol' Integra.
3 way speakers are more common in your rear speaker size. Dont worry, picking up a 3 way speaker will only make things sound better.

Thanx for all the great feedback folks, it really dose help when y'all chime in so fast with the right answers. Thumbs up for the good folks at HT for being there for us that need to ask questions.
I guess I'll go with the DB690 6x9 back panel speakers and DB650 6.5 Polk Audio for the front door speakers. Once again, thanx a bunch...
