E85 in an H22a4? Conseqences, benefits??
I recently tried a half tank of E85 in my 92 Si / H22a4 swapped prelude mixed with a half tank of 93 octane.
It seriously seems to pull harder, is this possible?
What are the consequences of using this in my car? I used to run it in my 92 Ford Explorer frequently and it never caused any problems, but my fuel milage went down about 10%.
Thanks

By the way I am running odb1 mainly stock I/H/E. Using a p28 with only an H22a4 basemap running a little rich. Will be tuned soon.
im not 100% sure, but i think i read a while back that E85 is like equal to super high octane but it burns quicker so you'll be needing more fuel?
ughh don't do that Derek! your car needs to be tuned for it as it uses 30-35% more fuel than premium gas. You're most likely running super lean.
Well it has alot of alcohol in it which will corrode things faster. Things like rubber lines and such could be affected as well as un-anodized aluminum parts like fuel rail could also corrode over time.
Then benefits are awesome. The stuff runs cooler for one. You can run more timing and compression because of it being higher octane and thus make more power. I like to think of it as a streetable race gas. You'll get less miles per gallon, but its a bit cheaper than street gas so its kind of a tradeoff. But being able to run higher compression while keeping it streetable is the main thing. I think theres a really good thread in the FI forum about it if you want to learn more.
