im in the process of installing my shift boot, cant get the knob off (help ASAP!!)

Default im in the process of installing my shift boot, cant get the **** off (help ASAP!!)

i have a 00 and i have everything unscrewed and practically off except my ****. I have turned it and it spins but it does not come out. I have searched but cant really find a definate answer. How the heck do I get the **** off

im in the garage now, someone help please

Keep spinning it (counter-clockwise). And it should come off...

you have to get the 14mm bolt off the bottom when a wrench.......then twist the **** off....the bolt holds the shifter **** in place.

ok i got it off.....but those of u with a red stich ****, what did u do to the clips on the bottom of the ****?? it looks like those clips wont snap in behind the jdm boot. should I break them off??

Don't break them, that won't solve your problem. I have the same scenario and there is no way to get those clips underneath the jdm boot. Well... i have never found a way.

Take the piece out of the top of the stock boot (where it comes together beneath the shift ****) and put it in the red stiched one (instead of the piece that's already there).

Pretty sure I remember doing that to #151.

I even bought a replacement metal piece (with the prongs) off e-bay for this car since it appears to be missing.

If anyone wants a yellow stiched boot, IM me an offer.

Changing the boot is easier then blowing your nose.

The stock boot had a collar which the clips of the **** clipped into
