Default Need info on the rsx type-s!

I thinking of picking one up but I would like to know what are the difference btw each year model! What changed? , what option was added? stuff like that! I don't think I will be able to afford a 05 or up and I know they got a little redesign on them. So btw 02-03-04!

Thanks
Dave

generally speaking, 02-04 were the same. 200 hp, same body design, same colors. 05 hp figure was 210, 06 was 201. the difference was the method in measuring hp. more colors were available, revised body work, along with slighly larger exhaust b pipe, different cams, intake, and ecu. the 02-04 are easier to get the kpro for, since you can use the existing ecu and o2 sensor, but 05-06 respond to tuning better (see hondata.com).

Option wise was there something that got upgraded or added btw the 02-03-04 models? Also the Type-S comes with 17", 215/45/17! Just curious to see how much tires go for?

Thanks alot!

Dave

to the best of my knowledge, there are no differences between the 02-04, except for when the a-spec came out. i'm not sure what year that was, but the package included 17" rims, body kit, and suspension kit. as far as tire prices, 215/45 17" tires aren't too expensive.

A-Spec was available at least as early as 2k3 as they tried vigorously to get me to buy one.

02-04 models normally come in 16" wheels (aspec wheels are not common and are 17")

05-06 normally come in 17" wheels
you can buy these used anywhere from 400-600 bucks for wheels and tires

off the top of my head
you have larger exhaust piping/more free flowing, larger im, more agressive cams, improved gear raios, larger strut/sway bars, refined gauge clusters, upgraded leather seats, all of them come with a lip spoiler, headlights, taillights

02-04 type-s dyno about 165whp
smaller front brakes than the 05+
smaller exhaust than the 05+
Less aggresive cams than the 05+
suspension is higher than the 05+
come with spoiler

05-06 type-s dyno about 175whp
krpo isnt all figured out yet
nicer, softer seats than the 02-04
come with deck lid

they both have different headlights and tailights, different rims

aspec consist of a wheel upgrade, if you have an 02-04, you can upgrade from 16" to 17" wheels
also a lipkit all around the car, a high-wing(type-r lookalike), and suspension upgrade (very mild drop)

I looked into getting Kpro for my 06. It's an 02-04 ECU first of all, not to mention you need an adapter/wiring harness. Oh and it pops out of cruise control over 70mph
doesnt look worked out to me. looks like a way to get around to pushing a product out rather than having it working completely. Its got kinks.

my cruise works just fine
only once it turned off on my, then i just turned it back on, no big deal
also if you stare at your speedometer, it'll drop everynow and then
it doesnt mess with your speed or anything
you probably won't even notice it unless you really pay attention to the speedo

Please, I beg of someone to do a new thread with detailed changes between the 02-04 and 05-06.

Leave out speculation and just list the facts.

I'll put it in the FAQ.

I am so tired of seeing threads like these pop-up every week.
