oh my god......since misas head exploded after reading this, can i be the new mod. RIP Misa.......anurysims are a bitch....
No the setup if different.

heres the deal i want to make my 96 accord haul ***. i am not very smart on these matters as i see you obviously are. lets say i was going to spend $7,000 on this project. what would you suggest?
hey go_noles28...don't worry about these guys...they are just upset after answering the same questions over and over...but here's a start...the dohc head and sohc head are two very different things...the single overhead cam is less powerful because it is using one cam to control both the intake and exhaust at the same time...but the dohc head uses two individual ones hence more power...but there are a whole lot more factors affecting power as well but the list is so long and it's so late that i'm not even gonna try and list it right now
...and the prelude and accord setup are different yes...but i believe the f23a was an option for the 92-95 preludes which is somewhat like the accord engine...but the preludes mainly use h series motors which are dohc...the h23 is non-vtec...many people with this engine use a turbo because of the lack of vtec...and the h22 is a vtec motor and some people use a turbo on it but they mainly just go all motor instead of boost...hope that gives you a start!

they don't make DOHC Accord engines...the only one that's in DOHC is the Accord Si R ^_^

holy shiat...you have 7 grand to spend on your accord...geez...well you should get a prelude engine and boost boost boost...and maybe some nitrous as well...that'd make your car 'haul ***'....
dude i paid for my car 13k in cash, and spent 6k on it so far...and it's still slow...fck
lol =P i should have waited and just buy a s2k

For 5000 dollars you can buy the accord in this post: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=186188 and then sell your accord and use the money to put a turbo on it. You will be one quick ****
dohc valvetrains are intrinsically lighter than sohc designs, motor more balanced, higher revs are possable, cams can be adjusted independantly of eachother to add/remove valve overlap...

I dont see how this is possible. SOHC engines only have 1 Camshaft while DOHC engines have 2. When I did a research paper about Cams for an engineering clas I took a while back I had in my possession cams from an H22A and cams from a D16Y8. The 1 camshaft from the D16 was about 1/2the weight of the H22 camshafts. Add in the weight of the cam gears from the H22 and I do not see how the DOHC could get lighter. Both engines do have the same number of valves and stuff so I dont see how the rest of the valvtrain on the DOHC engine could make up for the weight of the 2 Camshafts to make it lighter. Yes I know these are different sized motors but still it really doesnt add up.

more tuneability etc....
but then just ask yourself, why dont all race teams use sohc motors then.....?(im notalking about nascrap)
because each cam is operating 8 valves at one time and not 16......
