damn maintenance required light
I've been staring at my maintenance required light now for about a year and a half. There is no maintenance needed i just have no idea how to reset it. If anyone can let me know, id greatly appreciate it. Its a 97 prelude that has the red light lit up next to maintenance required. Thanks
Well, I have the same indicator and have two options.
1. I can look under the dash and TRY to remember where it's located. ( I just bought this 5th gen last week)
2. I can simply ask someone in here who might know off the top of their head where it's located just to save me some time.
I'll go with option two.
Who wants to step to the plate?

there is a button on some acura/honda models that turns off the maintenance required light. I have only heard of it on teggy.
I believe the way to turn it off is to stick the key into the little slot under the light.

when i worked at an auto shop we used to do this on all the cars.
some cars require that you hold the button for some odd seconds then turn on the ignition and hold it and keep it held. those were gmcs and stuff for the most part...
some hondas and toyotas were like that too iirc, i dont remember if the lude had that method or the key thing
although i strongly believe there is a slot where the key fits and it should go from red to green. at least thats how it was on my sisters 97 accord.
my 4th gen never had that maint req'd crap.

Got it taken care of. I had not looked closely at the cluster since I've only owned the car a little over a week. I was thinking the reset button was under the dash like some of the other models.
