Default fuel problem?

My crx is having problems and it seems fuel related. It runs fine normally but almost always if I pull into a gas station and fuel up and try to start it up afterwards it will start for a moment and then stall out. After that it's a bitch to restart and takes like two minutes and then there's no problems once it's running. It seems to have the problems mainly if I turn off the car, wait a minute to two minutes and try to start it up again. But after waiting ten minutes or more it starts fine.

Today I was heading out to work and the engine was still a bit cold, midway thru second gear it bogged and then stalled out. It took fifteen minutes to start up again and then it ran but unsteady. After that in the pm it started and ran fine.

I'm guessing it could be: fuel pump, fuel rail, fuel filter (i dont think its this because it was replaced before) but not the injectors. I figure if it were the injectors it wouldn't fire back up after letting it sit two minutes.

Any suggestions before I spring for a fuel pump? Thanks!

Have you checked the main relay?

What would I look for? If it was a wire, wouldnt it be a constant problem instead of just when the car has been sitting for five minutes? Could it be a fuse problem or contact problem?

Sounds Like it could be, but when mine went out it either started or not. It never bogged and died

That sounds like it could be the problem. Is it possible to pick up a new (not used) main relay for a 89 crx si? How much do they run and where did you guys get yours?

sounds to me like a fuel pump issue. but checking the main relay wouldn't be a bad idea.
