Winter tires
Girlfriend recently just ordered some Michilen Alpins from tirerack with a set of rims for the winter. What tires are you guys using for the nasty winters?? Im also in the marrket for some winter tires as well.
I've tried several brands. What I found out was that they all perform about the same. If you drive smart, you will not get stuck, even in a blizzard (to a point). I've gone up to ski resorts in the middle of a big snow storm on some cheap Hankook snow tires.
Get a dedicated snow tire, and you'll be fine. If I had to buy snow tires, I'd get whatever's the cheapest...which were the Hankooks ($50/tire)

Over-priced, in my opinion. So are the M3's.

I just bought a set of Blizzaks. In Wisconsin, we have only had one major snowfall so far, and it was BAD. I was very confident driving with my Blizzaks in 8-10".
I got Blizzaks for this season up in Chicago and think they're a waste of money IMHO. It doesnt snow up here enough anymore to make it worthwhile unless you drive somewhere that does. Get whatever is cheapest.
