Default Help installing H1 bulbs...

I bought some H1 +50 bulbs online and went to install them in my 5th gen but, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm kinda lost as to what to do.

These are what I bought...

For the brights and low beams, and I also got replacement bulbs for the small parking lights (or whatever they are, the third light in the headlight housing on 5th gens).

It's real easy to just unplug the wiring harness from the actual headlight plug, but I don't know how to actually remove where the bulb plugs in so I can actually replace the bulbs themselves. Can someone please provide me with some direction here? Does that big fat rubber donut housing twist out or something along those lines? I did a search but all I got was a bunch of people asking about HID's and that doesnt really answer my question. Anything you guys could tell me would help a ton.

Man I've answered this so many times. Let me see if I can dig up one of the old threads.

Squeeze and slide the plug or harness as you call it off the back of the bulb contact prongs, then you have to wiggle that big fat rubber seal as you call it until it clears the old bulb. It has a rubber tongue at the top and the word Top written on it, I use that tongue and grip it while working it loose. They can be a bit hard to remove as they are the water seal that stops water getting at the bulb or in the headlight. Once you've got that off you will see a spring like clip that is on a hinge, you push gently until that clip swings out of the way to let you slide the bulb out. Fitting is just reverse make sure you don't touch the glass part of the bulb with your fingers it 's not good for them. The side/parking little bulbs I forget how to change I think they are similar but fiddly as the radiator plastic top up reservoir gets in the way, I just unscrew the tube and lift it up out of the way it just slides up and out to make you more room.

Awesome, thanks a ton. I didn't want to go yanking on the rubber surround and rip something out that was supposed to remain intact. I'll give it a shot when it's daylight tomorrow morning.
