hp gain expected on gsr w/ supercharger...?
Dont know if this is a repost i searched nothing came, maybe i typed in wrong words. Im debating on turbo/superchargerhp gain . Im not asking witch is better. Im leaning more towards supercharger for daily drivability. Just want to know the hp gain on a gsr w/ I/H/E and the average gain of a supercharged gsr. Thanx in advanced.
It depends on a lot of things, but with good engine management it should make well over 200 WHP with a very fat torque curve.
factory hp ratings are made at flywheel not wheels so whp is gonna be less than factory hp ratings. 10-15% is a general number u can use to approximate flywheel hp from whp.
before i put on s/c i put down 166hp with I/H/E/skunk 2 intake. i had my car dyno'd when i first put on my s/c with a stock cat, dc 4-1 header(not jdm) and the standard jackson racing fmu and crap At 6lbs i put down 190hp dont remember the tq though. there is about 20-30hp more to be had from the right header and engine management setup without increasing the boost. if u are goin for all out hp then a turbo will beat a s/c, but u cant beat the instant throttle response u get when bypass valve closes and s/c starts to whine but thats just my 2 cents
