Default My upper control arm is hitting my suspesion. Help!

I have a problem. It seems my upper control arm has decided that it dislikes my strut tower, and has beat a big hole it it. how would you guys go about fixing this?

I also posted this in suspension so maybe I can find out how to prevent it in the future.

You would go about that by not having your car dumped onto the concrete.

I have never seen it that bad, that is usally caused by camber kits and being entirly too low

you sir have the best aviator hands down

looks like you could just hamer it back down and run a weld where the metal split

i did see somewhere on here where someone welded a little box ontop of the strut

tower for the controle are to go up into

Your car is obviously too low. I had a similar problem except mine wasn't nearly as bad as yours. Simply raise your car. Sooner or later you're gonna have to replace your upper ball joints because they're getting smashed against the strut tower.

Stock control arms, I have an Ingalls camber kit though. Im only dropped on S-Techs too. Looks like I need new springs, and a welder.

I hope not, AGX's arent cheap, at least not for me, and they are less than 10 months old. Im going to take it to my buddy's tire shop on thursday and see if he can weld it for me. This is strange because I have had this setup for quite some time now and it decided to do it now, it wasnt like that that I can remember just a few weeks ago. Its also only doing it on that one side.

Mine did that too, but not as bad. Still not really sure how, because I'm not that low. But yeah, like eveyone said, beat it back down and weld it shut. Be careful, that ish is easy to burn right through!

get higher springrates, what's you suspension setup? because if you have sleeve coilovers on AGX's they're most likely blown already, that causing the damper not being able to handle the force from a bump and shoving the upper arm into the shock tower

if your shocks aren't blown, you just need to raise the car or get higher springrates, but you can't just get stiffer springs and keep them on AGX's, you'll need to get a full coilover or something that can handle the stiffer rates without bottoming out on the shock tower

Its Tein S-Techs on AGX's. Can I just up the dampening to a harder setting? I have them on 1 right now.

I have H&R Race Springs (2.5" front, 2.25" rear) on Tokico Illuminas with Omni Power camber kits on all 4 corners and I've NEVER had a problem like this. The illuminas are set on 3 with 5 being the hardest setting possible.

Ok, so Im planning on fixing this tomorrow, Upping my agx's to 4, and saving for a GC/Koni setup. I dont care about ride quality anymore,

I just installed my ASR subframe brace and ITR sway bar too, and because of this I cant enjoy it.

Do you go over speed bumps or dips like an average car does? I take mine like a turtle, and I have to make sure I transfer the weight correctly on the really bad ones.

Pretty much any transition in road elevation I slow down to a crawl for. I think this happened on the highway on unexpected bumps on some bridges. They used to be smooth, but construction came along and fucked them up.
