07 Civic Si VS. 2005+ Acura RSX-S ? *woes of a new car addict*
New to this forum, apologies in advance if this has been asked before:
I dumped my WRX and bought an 05 RSX-S new when they launched, but got rid of the Acura because the tranny would grind from 1-2 gear, and from 2-3. Also the wheel spin and torque steer in the car was insane, and wet weather traction was awful. Although I loved the engine, the road noise, rattles, and poorly tuned suspension grated on me after awhile, and in conjunction with the tranny and traction issues, I dumped the car for an 05 325i.
So now my 325i is almost out of warranty (I had a long commute which is now shorter), and is having a few problems.
My question is: How much of the Civic SI Sedan shares parts with the RSX-S? If I ended up hating the RSX, will I have the same issues with the Civic? A dealer offered me a price of 20,600 on a Sedan, with summer tyres. Is this a decent price?
Does anyone have familiarity with both cars and can give me the cold hard facts?
Thanks very much,

Similar ....but different...
if you were happy with the performance of the rsx.. you'll be ecstatic on the si.
LSD is a big plus... personally i'm a navi *****... not a fan if its not in it.
Also,
there are creaks in ANY sub 30k car however mine are minimal..
price is great for what your getting...
go for it.

The price they offered is good. Some parts might, but there are not many that sadan/coupe parts that fit both models. RSX may be even more different.
Dammit Mike, you are too fast.

You might also run into grinding between 2nd to 3rd gear on the Si's 6spd tranny. People have mentioned it's a Honda thing.
I personally don't have the issue at all now, and when I did, it was minimal (I think it happened twice). The short shift kit got rid of any shift issues I had.

I have a civic coupe lx, and its very solid iMO. No complaints about grinding gears or weak suspension. I imagine the Si would be even better. My GF has a ex sedan, and it feels more sturdy, smooth and solid than mine, but the steering feels looser and less stiff than mine. I think those are the only diffs in the coupe and sedan..
No complaints here...creeks are minimal, and no rattles. If you want to hear creaks and rattles, go drive a Camaro. I had one for four years. The Si, may not be a BMW, but it is definitely a joy to drive.

I love my Si. I drove Evo, Sti, Rsx, Srt4,Mustang,Rousch Focus, and a legacy all in the same day and for the price and performance I feel that I got the most for my money. Oh and I cant get over the sexy body line that those genius honda designers came up with.

Really? I thought the Si out slaloms the Viper but not the Corvette.
