Car Starts UP funny!?
Sometimes when I start my 06civic LX coupe it makes a weird noise kinda like it's struggling to start the engine. The engine starts still afterwards but I had a few times where the car won't start and I would have to redo it again. I've only had this everyone once in a while, but I don't think this is suppose to happen. I'm going in for a recall check on wednesday is there anything I should tell them? Anyone know why this is happening?
Yeah I have to leave it out in cold weather and it's the northwest so it rains alot. But this never happens when I first start up the car in the morning, it usually happens on a 2nd or 3rd car start up. My oil is good I just got it changed a while back and my gas is half full.
It could be a) battery beginning to go bad (have them test it during your next visit) b) you could be trying to start it too quickly ... sounds silly but at times if you rotate the key too rapidly one of the relay's doesnt activate quickly enough ... solution is to turn the key to "ON" and let it sit there for an extra second then turn the key to start it.

Sorry, I don't mean to steal your thread, but when I start my car in the morning (in the garage... about 42-50F), it idles at around 2k rpm and then slowly drops to the normal idle rpm. Is this normal? Because my other car doesn't idle that high under the same temperature condition.

Yes compltley normal. ECM is trying to warm the car up to a normal operating temp before much of a load gets put on it. most obd-1 + cars behave this way

My 02 auto LX used to do this as well until the temperature warmer up in the car. Just as Tre said.
