Default OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM (??)

Okay, awhile back i replaced my head gasket on my 95 accord. since then i have had this problem of my spark plug wires coming out of the head cam. It used to happen frequently, whenever i would go above 3000 RPMs on take off. Now not so much but it still happens. Anyway, i noticed that it had happened again because my engine started to overheat. My question is this; Is this due to high pressure? Could it be that i torqued the head down too tight?? Is the over heating related to the fact that my spark plug wire boot was out of the head?????? Any ideas are appreciated.

not an oil pressure issue.

sounds like excessive crank case pressure to me. check your PCV valve to see if it is clogged up. also check your breather line from the valve cover to the intake to ensure it is not clogged.

overheating - did you bleed the coolant properly after replacing the head gasket?

head overtorqued wouldn't cause this, but exactly how tight did you torque it?

Sorry, i replaced the valve cover gasket not the head. Anyway, I replaced the PCV when i did the gasket. I will check the breathe line though and let you know what i found. Also, since we are talkin about the valve cover, do you think that might be over torqued?

I'll check the coolant when i get home and post tomorrow about what i found. I couldnt check it when i discovered the problem because I was at work. I bought this car a few months ago and i'm still working out the kinks. Thanks B for the post.

nothing should occur if you've overtightened the valve cover bolts. although if you tighten them too much they will break easily. that's a bitch.

perhaps your spark plug seals just are not fully seated around the tubes, or the seals are worn out.

Yes. The seals are not on there proper. I looked in with a light and saw oil residue in the spark plug seats. Can I just reseal those and re-use the cover gasket, etc. ? Or, should i redo everything??

Okay, went to autozone and got a new kit. When i took out the new kit i noticed that it was black instead of orange. When i originally did the gasket, i noticed it was a little too big. This new fit perfect. So, I redid the gasket but reused the seals for the spark plug valves. And it happened again on the way to work just now. AHHGGG! Should I have used the new seals that came with the correct gasket? Is there a chance that they were not the right size either??

My friend thinks that it has to do with something else that is causing high pressure in the chamber and it is just maxing the seals out. What do ya'll think?

it still sounds like excessive crankcase pressure to me.

are you saying that you didn't replace the spark plug tube seals in the valve cover? why not? that's where i would start.

agreed. that and check to make sure the pcv valve *clicks* when you pinch the hose while the car is running and that your breather isn't clogged

You wont beleive this....
AutoZone gave me the wrong damn kit. I think the one i got was for the VTEC 2.2L
instead of the non VTEC 2.2L . So i called AutoZone, did a mild chewing over the phone and they said they would give me a store credit for the price of the kit that i was originaly given. Crazy right? The seals arent that much different in size but just enough to let out pressure through the spark plug wells. Thanks for all the help.
