Damn cable linkage snaped today
well my linkage was already screwed from last week when I pulled my h22 outta my ek to put on a new tranny and the linkage bracket was caught on the back of the motor. I only bent one of the cables, which was for the gear selecting arm. Anyways I was starting to take off at a stop light and the damn car just wouldnt move worth ****. I could tell something was screwed cause i would start in "1st" and shift to "2nd, then "3rd" and when I went to 3rd I was actually downshifting a gear. Once I got to work I pop'ed my hood and realized the cable snaped.
after I got off work and home I was playing with the shifter arms and realized I couldn't get it to go in any gears but 3rd and 4th. And this was with me physically moving the 2 arms on the tranny. Now im unsure if my cable snaped bacause it was already screwed up, or because the tranny is messed up and caused it to snap. Also I had a tranny leak somewhere, and I found out its right underneath the shifter arms. after I turn my car off you can hear it bubbling and leaking out.
So now im just ganna take my old tranny and see how much its ganna take to get fixed. I really don't wanna buy a 3rd tranny. The only thing that was wrong with my last one was that reverse would not engage. Other than that it was great. And this new tranny is just crap all around.
So should I wait until I have my tranny fixed to put new linkage on? If my tranny snaped my cable, I dont want it happening again lol.

Good luck on your current prob.

just pop your hood and look at your cables. If they're not connected, then you need new ones. You may have to get under your car as well to inspect if you don't see anything from the top.....You'll defanitely know when your cables snap, cause your shifter will have ALOT of play in it

Too much reading, add some cliff notes
either way, buy new cables since you mentioned they were messed up anyways
