Default mo power!

Ive got a 06 LX. Not to many mods as of yet. Ive got a fujita F5 CAI, Maxxim gunmetal grey 18" rims, and a JDM muffler with custom catback exhaust. I also have 2x12" in the back....and ive heard that per 50lbs you lose 4hp. Is that true? and im really excited about this turbo coming out for the R18a1, thats gonna be a purchase of mine in the spring when its released. Any other ideas for a little bit more of a hp gain?

If you don't mind me asking, what makes your "muffler" "JDM"?

I see, as far as power goes, what's the point of buying anything if you're planning on buying the turbo kit? Just save your money for that unless you'd like to upgrade your suspension which seems to be a good idea since your car will have more power, might as well make it easier to control.

you definatley need some help son. so you want "mo power!" right? well here's what you got and what you need

• Fujita F5 CAI - good, for about 3-5whp
• Maxxim 18" rims - 18" are TOO BIG for the 1.8L SOHC.. big wheel requires more torque and exceleration... 17" should be as big as you need.
• "JDM" Muffler w/customer catback exhaust - as stated above, JDM = Japan Domestic Market. the muffler you bought probably wasn't even developed in japan let alone made there (unless u post pics and prove me wrong) and is basically used as a marketing scheme to sell products to consumers like yourself
• 2x12' subs - the more weight you add, the slower your car goes, this is why people gut their cars out (i.e. taking out the back seats, take out the sound deading tar, ec...), get CF (carbon fiber) hoods and trunk lids, etc..

If you want to go fast, turbo that motor or swap out that motor, other than that, your just spending money on looks and sound

Drop a K20A2 in it. Turbo that. Although that would be a trip considering the engines are opposite from the R18.

that would require conversion to cable throttle

If he gets the engine, throttle body and (k-Pro'd!!!) ECU for the K20A2, then I think you are pretty much done with the conversion as far as DBW to Cable is concerned.

I think the tranny would be a bigger concern. I'm sure Hasports might have some info on it.

But, of course, this is all speculation and pointless, because I doubt the OP would do this

Id love to be able to drop the K20a2 into my car. But Id have to do a lot more **** to my car to make that work. My car is an automatic, and I kno that id have to get a manual tranny to hook up with the K20, and thats gonna be more work than I thought. Cutting a whole in my firewall to install a clutch....? Im mainly going for looks, but "more" hp can never be a bad thing. So I plan by mid this year to have close to 210+hp.

If your plan is 210+, Then you might have to either do an AJP install, or an engine swap. And during that engine swap, you'd probably benefit from doing a transmission swap from auto to manual. And at that point, you might as well sell your car, and save up for (yes, I'm going to say it, burn me alive) a Si and spend less modding it. An Auto & engine swap is going to cost a pretty penny. Probably $6000 for parts alone (I'm guessing).

However, if you are extremely partial to your car, and want the experience working heavily on your car, go for a swap! I won't say "buy a Si" here, because this is what you want to do, and I think most of us here can respect that.
