yea??? I could swear the stock vtec engagement for a GSR was 4400...which is close to his 4700 which he heard it at... (Tach calibration)

it would throw a CEL if it wasnt functioning properly...You probably didnt notice it?? Most likely it would throw code 22 or 21 etc etc (one of the low 20's dont remember off top of head).. There really isnt much to the solenoid

i apologize, you are correct...sounds like a pressure switch or solenoid, but i would imagine a code would be thrown too

CEL check engine lioght im a idiot lol ok but it did flicker tonight now that i think about it on the high way i was in like 4th gear at like 4k and it came on then i was at gas station adn i turned off then i turned it on and its gone light was off
I just read your other thread..if you own a 93 GSR...your engagement is higher than 4400...More around that 6k you heard it at...Also if you saw the CEL, drive the car again...Run into VTEC...watch the CEL, if it comes on , try to hit VTEC again...If you fail. Turn off the car, and try to hit VTEC, if it allows you. Do 1 or both of these things
1. pull the code (eh check the FAQ's for this one)
2. Clean the solenoid if you get code in the low 20's
