how to install shifter bushings?
ok i have a diagram but i took the plastic peice off and there is a rubber grommet... but i dont see where these go..... no bolts or anything after that... how do i put these together?? i dont see how to put it in there.... i am gonna have to get to this part when i install a short shifter this comming up week just dont know what is the next step...
ok, the circular looking bushing goes on the transmission end of the shift linkage, just look for the stock rubber (black) bushing and yank it out. The new bushings should look identical to your stock ones except that they are probably red or PU bushings. The one that looks like a trapezoid with 2 holes in it goes by the shifter end of the shift linkage. If u find where the stock ones are, then you will know exactly where ur new ones go.....
thanks man.. i searched nothing.. then i clicked archived.. and i got alot of results... and pics... thanks... what u said is what i seen in pics.... did nto know i had to go under car.... it's almost dark just got them in mail too.. ugh!!!! always tomm

i can atest to this. tried doing it without removing the linkage but couldnt get enough leverage so i took it off. then stepped on the damn bushing till it popped into the linkage.
