Honda Civic EX coupe conversion
Yea i have a 98 honda civic ex coupe with just the lousy ole factory motor in it and its time for it to go bye bye....i need help in figuring out if its possible to put a 2.0 DOHC vtec motor into my car. If not what engine would be best used in my car and would run great with a turbo attachment.
not trying to be a dick but do some damn research about the engines first
then do some research on how to install
and also whats legal and whats not.
You have to legaly stick with obd2 engines. Or some how add more sensors
to run in obd2. But everybody still seems to be switching to obd1, 92-95
There is no 2.0 DOHC vtec. You might be thinking of the new k series engines
that they make, but those are i-vtec not vtec.
Vtec came stock only on the b16's and the gsr engines. You can use different
blocks to convert to 2.0 like the crv/vtec. Or you can always bore out the block
you have there.
Oh and that dinky engine of yours isnt so "dinky" it has 130hp, throw a turbo on
there for cheaper then the swap would cost you and you pushing as much or not
more power.
There are lots of sites and articles on this. Wiring for you is at minimun,
mounts you might be able to use stock ones of a integra or the 99 si.
(not 100% sure on the mounts)
So its a pretty straight swap.
You need the engine, tranny, halfshafts, midshaft, ecu, tools, and
a few buddies and if you know what your doing you can get it done
in a day or two. (with the help of some energy drinks)
