/\ I thought they somewhat determines that it was not in fact water damage, and the stealership was trying to get out of paying for it by using the 3 day old flood as an excuse.

The thread stated that if the intake sucked up a sufficient amount of water then it would have hydrolocked right away instead of letting it sit there for a few days and then killing the connector rod.

hydro shield for sure. sounds like this guy was kinda an idiot though. He said one of the puddle were like 7 inches deep which I would never drive though. I also think honda was trying to get out of the bill. Who's knows what really happend.

All I know is get the hydro shield if you have a CAI and dont drive through deep puddles.

Well this sh**s on my parade. I was going to ask my dad about getting the Injen CAI tonight (if I can't, then I'll just spend it else where). Since my dad bought me the car, I have to go by his rules lol

Anyone else having problems with the CAI? All I've heard are good things but this...man...it rains alot usually during the summer here so that would be bad...never floods though...

If you can't tell how deep it is....DRIVE AROUND IT ANYWAY!.

And I honestly believe the dealership is trying to get out of paying. Hydrolock happens immediately right? Not 3 days after a downpoor. Doesn't add up.

That is why I bought a short ram. I would rather lose 1-2 HP than lose 4500.00 for an engine

Nope. Ingesting water into the motor will typically cause immediate failure but if its a small amount of water it can become a cumulative process and take a little longer for internals to start failing.

The guy clearly hydro-locked his motor. And just so everyone knows the AEM bypass valves are useless unless the filter is COMPLETELY submerged in water.

I heard it only takes a teaspoon (very small amount) of water in the IM to hydrolock. Is that true?

My favorite part was the dumbasses telling him to take off his mods and perpetuate fraud so everyone else gets screwed when Honda Corporate gets paranoid (Like SOA). No thanks........

I got Injen CAI too and during hard rains, my car rattles...it feels like from engine...and it only happens when it rains hard. I did not go over the puddles and it still rattles and sounds like it's gonna die. Do u think I might've hydrolocked it too?
