I am helping my boy do his swap in a 92 LX auto and we have a few issues that are stopping us from pulling the motor out.
1-How do you removed a automactic shiftlinkage?
2- the lower castlenut bolt is striped, how shoud i go about removing it.
3-must the AC and rad come out to pull the motor?

1 - What do you mean how do you remove it?

2 - I'm not sure, I'd have to see it

3 - No.

Though if you're doing a B18 swap and you have the entire totaled 'teg a bigger rad never hurt anybody.

It just unbolts from the shifter...

I think there's a clip on the tranny side..but I usually pull the whole linkage too (b/c it gets in the way when putting **** back in through the bottom)

Try standards...something has g2 fit that bolt...didn't think there was any standards, but hey, the lugs are standard.

1. You have to remove it from the shifter and pull the cables with the engine.

2. How badly is it stripped if its so bad that the ball keeps spinning and doesnt come off then you may need to cut it off and replace the ball join.

3. Doesnt have, its more of a personal perference. If you want more room what you do is move the PS (if she has it) over the shock tower area and pull the AC compressor over the rad support and thatll give you plenty of room. Also take off the header.

if you are talking about the auto shifter, then just remove the center console, you will see the bolts to the shifter, unbolt it from the floor board.

about the castle nut? if you are trying to seperate it from the lower ball joint but can't. do what i did. loosen or re,ove the strut/spring assembly to give some play, then unbolt it fom the sub-frame and remove the bolts from the control arm, since honda was smart enough to make the LCA 2 pieces. this way you can now remove the axle.

and for the a/c condensor & radiator. you hve to unbolt this from the engine anyway to remove the engine. might as well remove it from the engine bay too. it'll will give you more room to work and less chance of the eninge damaging the coils on both, while you are pulling and installing the engines.

oh BLUE EH3, what ever you do, do not loose or throw away the harness to the auto shifter. keeping this will make it easier to starting the car. not having to connect any wires. just a plug n play.

Did you take off the center console? Once thats off youll see the cables and you just take them out accordingly. You have to take the whole auto shifter off, i believe theres 4 or 5 screws holding it in.
