96-00 civic comes with 6.5" gathers speakers???

96-00 civic comes with 6.5" gathers speakers???
i just popped out the front speakers to change for some pioneers but saw that the stock one says "GATHERS" in the back and some japanese writing. it looks stock but has a cone in the front. they sound pretty decent for stocks. i was wondering if all ek's came with these or not.
