A flip out DVD player will not work unless you have someone make you a custom dash, i tried to put a flip out one in my car and it hit all of the controls. a double din dvd player will work tho.

i started to put a computer in the car, so far about $650 into in and it does way more than any off the shelf one
-almost unlimited storage for MP3s
-GPS
-OBD2 reader
-MP3s
-video
and it plays through the stock head unit. Mine had the casette player with seperate CD player below it. So there is an adapter you can but to change it to RCA jacks
If your interested, i can post some pics and more info

That sounds nice, thought about putting a laptop in the car to use it as a navigational system. Would like to see some pictures, post them up

OK... here is the thing. You have to get one that comes out and tilts too. I had the kenwood one. I love Alpine but that dvd only comes out and doesn't tilt. Withouth the dvd having the option to tilt you won't see anything. I had it on my ITR that got stolen and they took that thing out if it too. More than a grand. If I could go back I wouldn't buy it. I mean yeah it looks good and cool but honestly is not worth it. You probably will never watch a DVD since you'll be driving and later on you'll find out that all it does is just play music which you can do with a regular deck. Is up to you... people told me not to get it and I got it and then saw what a waste of money I did

I just used the laptop/GPS module on a trip. The laptop is in the passenger seat and Microsoft Maps and Streets or Streets and Trips was running. Not a clean thing to do, but hey at least it's easily removable.

I've loaded it up with everything from GPS to MP3's to Music Videos, Movies, TV shows etc. Maybe I'll take some screen shots and add some updates...

^^^ Sorry i think that looks horrible, there are tons that come right out of where your CD player would be and once the car goes off, the screen goes right back in

hey kyle??
do you own an integra?
not bashing you or anything but in case you didn't notice most screens usually get in the way of the shifter or they get in the way of the actual heater vent controls.
so while you're driving and you get cold all of a sudden, you need to close the screen and adjust the controls and than open it back up again. same goes for the weather
and sometimes there aren't enough room for you to maneuver your shifter as the double din positioning isn't right.

Heres mine, it folds in and out, with bout 1cm clearance between the screen and heater controls, and the angle was still good enough to view the screen perfectly.

I wanted it as high as possible so that I can keep my eyes on the road. I took that last picture really quick and at night where the flash makes things look bad. Here are a couple of better daytime shots:
