Default H22 vs. F23a4 turbo

Alright guys, so I have a bit of a dilemma. I currently have a f23a4 with 68k miles on it and I'm trying to figure out whether it would worth wild to turbo it with a possibility of new pistons, rods, head studs, and maybe sleeving. Could the f23a4 handle 8psi of boost with a good tune when comparing it to the f23a1 or can I somewhat convert the a4 to an a1? My second option is going with the H22 swap but I don't know what would be easier doing, converting to OBDI or finding and OBDII motor. If I go with the h22 swap, will the axles that I have on there now handle the power? The torque spec on the f23 axles is 180ft. and on the h22 it's 181ft, so I'm under the impression there isn't a big difference. I have about 4k to work with, what do you think I should do? If I do end up doing the f23 build up I may spend more than 4k but with 4k what would be the best option in your opinions. Thanks

An H22 swap would be the choice that typically involves more reliability, compared to turboing the F23. If you choose to go turbo with the F, don't bother worrying about switching to a F23A1. Your motor will be fine with a good tune, but I wouldn't try to push it past, say, 225whp. Going turbo means that you need to have some money saved up in case something goes wrong. Also, if you want to build it, you'll be fine with just some pistons and rods, since the stock sleeves are good for a pretty decent amount of power. If you're going to shoot for some high horsepower though, you might as well go ahead and get it sleeved.

Personally, I would go turbo. H22's, in a pig of a car that our 6th gens are, just don't seem to be very satisfying.
