questions regarding my ek dx hatchback rear disc conversion
hi, i'll be doing a rear disc conversion soon on my 00 dx hatchback. i got the swap kit and proportiong valve from importautosalvage.com, without the master cylinder. is it necessary for me to get a new master cylinder too(if yes, would the ex-nonabs one work?)? also can i use the original e-brake cable on my dx with the new setup? thanks.
you do not need to change your master cyl.
i didnt even change my porp valve. i just got 99-00 si rear disc's and trailing arms and bolted them up. never had a problem yet. brakes bettern then drum brakes.

you need a ebrake cable for a disc brake setup the dx will not work
you don;t have to replace the master cylinder/booster but you should..
you can always do it later
you going to need master cylinder and brake booster for 99-00 si
integras ones might work just make sure the lines attach to the master cylinder in the same spots.and its from a non-abs car (all 99-00 don't have abs)
its varies year to year.. some will have the lines on the right or left or top in different combinations..

Civic EX and SI master cylinders are the same I believe. The older integra ones won't work but, the newer ones, newer than 96 I believe are a straight bolt on. I have a 00 Type-R MC I bought new from honda on my EK/EJ. It bolted right on. It's got the largest pistons of civic compatible MC's (1" I believe).
My research showed that the SI and CX/DX prop valve had the same part # from Honda so, I didn't bother swapping. I used E-brake cables from an 00 SI.

so a new master cylinder and proportioning valve is unnecessary, but a "new" e-brake cable is mandotary? also can canyone tell me where i can get it online? and also it has to be a cable for the car i got the trailing arm from, or would any of si cables will work(del sol si, si coupe, wat about the ex ones)? thanks in advance.

Ebrake cables is not mandatory if your swap came with ebrake cables already.

For a rear disc conversion you don't need a MC/BB from an Si, stock is fine. Also, the stock prop valve is the same as the Si.
I used the same cables from the 99-00 Si in my 98 DX hatch and they worked just fine.

99-00 Si, there was no 96-98 SI.

if the si and cx/dx prop valve is the same, what about the civic coupe ex?i also want to swap drums to disc and i dont know if i need the prop valve form the si?
i thought all i need was the e brake cables from the si, i got that confused with the brake lines. do i need brake lines from the si in order to finish this conversion? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
