car: 1991 Acura Integra LS SE
problem:

deck stop working and clock stop working...

* found out that me cig lighter, clock, interior light fuse was blown (fuse 14)

it was a 10 fuse.....
so i got another 10 fuse and tried to put it in..

fuse blew when touched...

tried a 15 fuse....

fuse blew when touched...


question is...should i try a higher fuse?

what should i do?

imma be driving a 6hr drive soon and i need my radio working and stuff

 

No, you should not try a bigger fuse.

You need to figure out why the fuse is blowing, and trace back where the short is.

But in the mean time, so you're not without tunes, you can always jump your yellow wire on the radio to the constant free pin on the fuse box to get you through your trip...

 

Ok first, never replace a fuse with a bigger one, however in this case, my manual indicates that fuse 14 is a 15A fuse.
But as B18C_EL8 explains you have a short and it must be found, the most common problem is "pinched" wires behind the HU, [if you have an aftermarket HU] pull the HU and check, next most common, and probably the problem if you still have the stock HU, is the lighter, unplug the power wire from the lighter.
When retesting use a 5A fuse, if it does not blow replace with a 15A. 94
