yes it does, remember that the z1 doesnt have the crank sensor so to bypass that u would need an obd2 to obd1 harness and use the z1's ecu

This is probably going to be more hassle than it's worth for a temporary solution.

Don't you have any other options? Can you just drive the VX? Pick up a D16Y7 (they're incredibly cheap)?

It's going to be a PITA. I'd be a better alternative to do a D16Y5 swap.

yeah, there isnt even a point in trying to swap it over, i mean, it wont run right unless you add a good bit of wiring and basically hack the crap out of the car. its more work than its worth in the end, especially if its just for temporary. do yourself a favor and pick up ANYTHING obd2.

man this is going to be so much of a pain in the ***, just put it in and run it off of the stock ecu, and set base timing to like 5

it will run like ****, but who cares, i wouldn't wire **** up. I'd put the stock dx dizzy on with vice grips if you have to. **** egr, 5wire, vtec, and knock sensor, who cares. I would say not to rev that engine beyond 6000rpms, but you will have such **** for power, that you won't be able to, even in neutral.

hahhaa

like i said if you have to ask the answer is NO. simply put there are atleast 3 connectors and 10 more wires you have to run to the ECU itself to get it to work HALF ASSED.

JUST SPEND THE $100 on another longblock.

NO, the outcome would be more of a headache. quit being cheap and buy a motor or rebuild yours.

So you're fully building a K20 .... but you don't know the complications involved with putting a VX motor in an OBD2 car?

BEEEEE-ESSSSS.

the info i posted is HELPFUL. by the way, i seriously doubt you are building a K if you cannot answer your own question at hand. especially the "can i use the vx shortblock with the y7 head."

believe what u want... i seriously am though..
you can use a d15 block with a d16 and make a minime swap.. i might do that...

i found a d16 shortblock for $150.. i might just grab that up and put the stock d16y7 head on it and be done with it..
i was just askin a question since i dont know d series..
thanks though

you sure can, but not with a d15z1 stock pistons, well actually you still can, you wont be happy though, compression is like 7.8:1 when you are done.

If you're trying to use a 14mm wrench, on a 10mm bolt, what are you going to do?

get a 10mm wrench, instead of trying to make a 14mm into something it's not
