I have been wondering what this **** is since I got the car. I have no idea what it is and it just dawned on me today to ask you guys. I did a search and could not find anything sorry if this is a repeat thread and thanks in advance!

serves two purposes.


1. Helps thieves steal your car
2. keeps the windows on track

*Stumped and would love to know as well*.... sorry for not elaborating. But, yeah, how does it help theives *into* our cars? (oh and almost impossible to actually steal the cars isn't it? Because of the key transmitter?)

they pop that off and pull the window out and get in the car

no car is unable to be stolen.

 

Eh figures, I did say almost impossible, but what about the engine imobilizer system? If the proper key isn't used the engine turns off..... or so I thought.

I thought it was for reading the outside temperature. lol. OOPS!

 

The only way to keep your car from getting stolen is to put some explosives on it when you leave that detonate if the car is cranked, but must only be activated by seperate components moved by the engine itself. You lose a car, they lose their life.

 

....Fair trade.... heheh.

 

When the bastards stole my typeR they just went between the door jam. THey pried that **** open and stuck something in there for the door locks. They didnt even mess with the window. I will never park any of my hondas outside EVER

 

I don't know for sure what this thing does but if I had to guess, I'd say it is there to affect the way the wind comes across the top of the window. My buddy has a Jetta, and if you open the windows on the highway, you hear this really annoying low pitched sound and there is no way to get rid of it. I'm just guessing here, but I'll bet that tab stirs up the air and prevents that from happening. Either that, or it somehow makes the car more aerodynamic. Next time I see the Jetta, I'll check for that ****.

Ok, this morning I found the black **** missing on the top of the passenger window.

Has this happen to anyone else? If so, did it fall out or did someone try to break into your car?

Mine are still on my car. I'd keep an extra eye on my car if i were you. You never know.

this is OOH SOO true, happened to my EM1, but they weren't able to take my car, so instead they stole my cell phone

I thought it was for the window visors? To help you put them in.
