coolant leak on drivers side - waterpump?

1998 GS-R, 87K miles....T-belt not done yet...
Wife says garage floor has coolant, come back and check - sure enough, coolant puddle on drivers side. So, after jacking it up, I see the oil pan lip on the block has coolant and is dripping off there. I checked to see if its leaking at the head and doesnt seem to be...
I am guessing water pump or the o-rings? I also read it could be a seal inside the timing cover,
This happen to anyone else and if so, what was the issue?
Should I replace the t-belt and the pump - Figured its better to do it this way?

Yes you should always replace the timing belt at the same time as the water pump. Just to keep it all up to snuff and so you dont have to open it all back up again. Also there interference engines so you want make sure that you have a good belt on there.

Thanks, guys. I will do it with only genuine honda parts...This mechanic I know is that way. He won't let me use anything else, even aftermarket like greddy belt if I wanted him to.

Well, it has 87K on it and the guy who owned it used it as a daily driver from day 1 when he bought it. I got all maintainence reciepts and none mention a leak etc...2 weeks after I get it and leaking seems to have begun

I am calling today. I also seem to have an oil leak - oil pan gasket perhaps! 
Oh - and to answer your question: I asked him about t-belt and he said owners manual said it required no maintainence till 100K and that the t-belt was listed at 105K miles.
He was a 45 year old guy who bought it brand new in 1998 and just drove it daily. He even gave me a set of winter tires he would get swapped out every winter. Kinda nuts. I just wish he had got leather - he doesnt like leather, I guess!

Well would you rather pay labor twice or once? You do water pump / timing belt at same time because they're in the same area and takes no extra labor to change the timing belt while at it. You can pay for labor twice within 2months if you want. And it might say it at 100k, but I think people still change it out 80-90k just in case something happens before hand.

I agree totally with you, don't know if I confused you somehow -
I meant I am doing the timing belt and water pump (getting the OEM kit). Actually, I am also changing the oil (500 miles overdue), valve cover gaskets, thermostat and radiator flush. If the oil pan gasket is leaking, I am swapping it out too. I am also have the crank pulley seal checked out to make sure it is not leaking oil and will have that replaced too, if needed.
Anything else you can think of to get checked when I am down there?
